June 20, 2016 Nnamdi Kanu’s Lead Lawyer Threatens To Dump The Case Another day, another drama. A fresh drama played out at the continuation of trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra in court on Monday. The drama began when the lead defence counsel, Chucks Muoma, accused his clients of judicial misconduct, and threatened to dump them and withdraw from the case. “My lord I am the lead counsel in this matter and courtesy demands that the introduction of a new counsel should be made with my consent. “I am a very busy counsel. I am not chasing the priest, the priest is chasing me. If this counsel had come in to be lead counsel, it will be a different case, but he is coming to take away one of my clients. Until this clarifications are made, my further appearance is forestalled. “I cannot do the wrong thing after almost 45 years at the bar. June 20, 2016 UPDATE | Saraki & Ekweremadu Panic...SSS To Arrest Them There is palpable fear in the camp of Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu as the Department of States Security, DSS, and the Nigeria Police has allegedly lay siege, in an order to arrest and arraigned them in court. The two lawmakers and the immediate past Clerk of the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasuwa would be charged for alleged forgery before an FCT High court in Abuja. The forgery charges against Saraki and Ekweremadu is ready. The two count charges read thus: Count One reads: "That you Salisu Abubakar Maikasuwa, Benedict Efeturi, Dr. Olubukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu on or about the 9th of June, 2015, at the National Assembly Complex, Three Arm Zone, Abuja within the Jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, conspired amongst yourselves, to forge the Senate Standing Order, 2011 (as amended) and you thereby committed the offence of Conspiracy, punishable under Section 97 (1) of ...

Akwa Ibom That Gets The Highest Oil Allocation is Asking for Bailout Fund One of the worst thing that could happen to a rich state or country is to be ruled by reckless spenders... The Akwa Ibom State Government at the weekend confirmed that it has indicate interest in the second round of bailout fund to be provided by the Federal Government. State Commissioner for Finance, Akan Okon, confirmed this at a briefing jointly held by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Victor Antai, on the state economy. The Commissioner stressed that the facility was very timely, hence the state government’s readiness to avail itself of the window being offered by the new loan to meet the needs of the state. He disclosed that the state received N5.3 billion as allocation from the federation account in the month of May, while its wage bill stood at N4.8 billion, making it difficult for the state to meet its financial obligations....
