Prominent Nigerians to face trial for terrorism financing – FG

  Agency Report The Federal Government says some prominent businessmen and organisations will soon be prosecuted for alleged offences relating to terrorism financing in the country.                                                                     Malami Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, revealed this when he fielded questions from State House correspondents in Abuja on Friday.  By Lekan Adesina Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Managing Director (MD) Ms. Hadiza Bala-Usman has been suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari, who also approved the setting up of an Administrative Panel of Inquiry to investigate the agency’s management under her watch.                                               Bala-Usman The suspension followed the recommendation of Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi. Mr. Mohammed Bello-Koko, the agency’s Executive Director, Finance and Administration, has been named to act as MD. Mbaka’s action shakes Enugu Catholic diocese....

The Bishop of Enugu, Callistus Onaga, called for a seven-day prayer of atonement and reparation. He said it was to seek the face of God over the desecration of the holy altar of sacrifice. A protest rocked Enugu on Wednesday following a rumour that Mbaka had been arrested. In a May 6 letter to parishioners, chaplaincies and religious houses in the diocese, Bishop Onaga wrote: “On 5th May 2021, the followers of Fr. By Lekan Adesina President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday led other eminent personalities in extending sympathies to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, over the death of his son, Pastor Oluwadamilare Temitayo Adeboye. Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief Whip of the Senate Orji Kalu and Deputy Chief Whip of House of Representatives Nkeiruka Onyejeocha also mourned the late cleric. The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) yesterday announced the death of Oluwadamilare, the third child of Pastor Adeboye. He was born on June 9, 1978 and died on May 4.
