The Indigenous People of Biafra has promised to deal with some miscreants in the South-East region, who are enforcing the already cancelled Monday sit-at-home order.  The secessionist group had on July 30 ordered a sit-at-home in the region.                              It threatened to shut down economic activities in the region, adding that violators of the order would be visited with violence. On August 9, IPOB started the enforcement of the lockdown. The sit-at-home order is to protest against the arrest and detention of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. 31 suspected internet fraudsters busted in Benin, 13 exotic cars recovered

 No fewer than 31 suspected internet fraudsters were arrested by operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).The Head, Media and Publicity of the Command, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement, said the suspects were arrested on Sunday, September 12, 2021, in two separate locations in Benin sequel to actionable intelligence. According to him, “Among those arrested are suspected fraudsters who, a few weeks ago, were seen in a viral video standing on top of their cars and throwing bundles of Naira notes into the air at a popular Plaza in Benin City. “They had embarked on a similar mission at the same venue on Sunday before they were intercepted by operatives of the Commission at the exit.  Ola Ibironke, popular music promoter and Captain of Ibadan Golf Club (IGC), is dead.                                             The Late Ola Ibironke Popularly called ‘Dudu Heritage, Ibironke reportedly died suddenly on Sunday night in Ibadan. Witnesses said he suddenly developed heart attack at the Golf Club, while holding a meeting. Efforts to revive him failed. He was confirmed dead in the hospital He was last seen in a trending video at Radisson Blu hotel in Lagos, exchanging banters with Wasiu Ayinde KWAM 1 and Dele Momodu. 75 abducted Zamfara pupils freed

The abducted pupils of Government Day Secondary School, Kaya, Maradun council of Zamfara State have been freed. They were abducted from the school on September 1. Governor Bello Matawalle announced their release after the Commissioner of Police Ayuba Elkanah presented the pupils to him at Government House, Gusau, on Sunday.A number of measures have been taken by the authorities to ensure the North-west is safe. While the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) ordered telecommunications providers to suspend services in Zamfara, some governors ordered the closure of markets from where bandits could get food supplies. A week ago, a student who escaped the bandits’ camp, narrated how they were given a bottle of water for 70 of them to share.   • NARD leadership, Ngige meet The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) on Monday said it was sidelined by officials of its parent body, the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), at Friday’s meeting with President Muhammad Buhari. A 16-man delegate of the NMA met with President Buhari last Friday on a  major issues in the Health sector, particularly the current strike by the resident doctors. The President urged them to call off the strike, assuring them that his administration would offset all the debts it owed them. Aside from insisting that the strike would continue, the NARD told The Nation that there seemed to be a deliberate attempt by the NMA to sideline it. But the NMA debunked NARD’s claims that it was sidelined, saying since it was a visit to the President, there was not enough space to accommodate all affiliate members of the association. Military onslaught in Zamfara: Dislodged bandits flee southwards, gunmen strike in Kogi, Kaduna, Ekiti

There were strong indications on Monday that bandits fleeing the military onslaught in Zamfara State were moving to states in the South. Top security sources, who confided in LIS News , said security agents in other states had been alerted to be on the lookout for the fleeing bandits. It was also gathered that the South-West states had put the regional security outfit, Amotekun, on the alert following intelligence reports that bandits being dislodged from Zamfara State were fleeing southwards. The Amotekun Corps commanders in Ekiti, Ondo, Osun and Oyo states, in separate interviews with LIS News , stated that residents of the states had been told to be vigilant and guard against infiltration by the fleeing hoodlums. They said this as gunmen invaded the Kabba Correctional Centre in Kogi State, where they freed 240 inmates and killed two soldiers.
