Amuchu divorced Tang -- who had a history of violence towards her, the court said -- in June 2020, only months before she was murdered at her father's home. He was sentenced to death for intentional homicide by a court in Aba Prefecture, a remote rural region of southwest Sichuan province with a large number of ethnic Tibetan residents. Military confirms death of ISWAP leader, Abu Musab Al-Barnawi

Image
The leader of the Islamic State West Africa Province jihadist group, Abu Musab al-Barnawi, is dead, Nigeria’s top military commander said on Thursday. ISWAP has not given any confirmation of al-Barnawi’s death and Nigeria’s army has claimed before to have killed jihadist commanders only for them to reappear. “I can authoritatively confirm to you that al-Barnawi is dead. As simple as that. He is dead and remains dead,” Chief of Defence Staff General Lucky Irabor told reporters. He did not give details on how or when al-Barnawi had died. Under al-Barnawi, ISWAP became the dominant jihadist force in Nigeria’s conflict, striking frequently at troops in an insurgency that has killed more than 40,000 since it begun in 2009. Al-Barnawi’s loss would be blow to ISWAP’s structure just as it was consolidating since the death of rival Boko Haram commander Abubakar Shekau earlier this year during infighting between the factions. But since splitting with Boko Haram in 2016, the gr...

What happened is that the person did it on Snap and he posted it by accident, but he quickly deleted it. ”However, someone got it before he could delete it. It is a very short video, but it is me. It is going to be out there and I can just imagine the memes. I just found out yesterday. I could not sleep last night.” Savage, 41, revealed tha...

South-East insecurity: Agitators seeking war won’t survive two weeks – Ken Nnamani

Image
Former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, has appealed to agitators in the South-East to sheathe their swords, warning that war is not child’s play. The All Progressives Congress (APC) said the destruction and killings in the region should not be regarded as a challenge to the federal government only. In a chat with reporters on Tuesday in Lagos, Nnamani noted that it is better for the Igbos to remain and achieve more in Nigeria. “Most of the people who call for war are usually the first to be wiped out. They would not survive the first two weeks. “I witnessed the Biafra war. Many people died, including students in Nsukka; young and bright citizens who were a joy to their parents, families and communities. “If Nigeria is properly organized, Igbos will thrive well. We should continue to develop our talents and businesses. “The Igbos stand to benefit most if there is peace.
